We’re heading out tomorrow morning. Current itinerary – subject to change – looks something like this:
- Drive to Germany
- Spend a few days in Rheinland-Pfalz (staying with friends Uli and Sabine)
- Sun: Sabine and I fly to Rome
- Spend a few days in Tuscany (at Sabine’s place in San Francesco)
- Take the night train from Florence to Venice
- Spend the day in Venice – it’s Carnival, so this is A Big Deal
- Take the night train back to Austria
The night trains mean the hotel room and the method of travel are one and the same, making travel a money saving experience. Plus, Venice is freaky expensive at the best of times, and during Carnival, boy howdy.
Adventure a-plenty ahead. I may not be able to update the site while traveling, but check in. I have to be back in Austria for school on the 28th. Plus, that’s the husband’s birthday, it won’t do for me to miss it because I’m frolicking in Venice.

Hmmm, makes my jaunt into the greater Houston area seem a little trite. Carnival in Venice, eh? Have a super time. I sense a potential homework assignment coming on in your A2 Schrift-ing class… “Was habe ich auf meinen italienischen Ferien getan.” 🙂

Not sure why this old post popped up on your front page but the old photo of Venice really caught my eye. It’s been 5 years since I was there. Such a great city!
