My head still thinks we’re in Hawaii even while my heart is turning to the next adventure, Vietnam. My body, though, knows the hard cold facts: We’re in torrential rainy Seattle. Our first day back we did two things: Went to Trader Joe’s to get some groceries and stopped for pho, the soup that soothes the transit addled. It’s soup season in Seattle, big time, there’s no denying it.
That’s why the timing for Lisa’s article in USA Weekend about Soup Swap couldn’t be better. We do love being in a house full of friends who have made soup and hey, that reminds me, I could take out that chicken soup from the early season swap for tonight’s dinner.
If you’re here from USA Weekend via Soup Swap, well, welcome! There’s leftover soup posts in the archives, and we all know that soup needs to sit for a bit before it reaches maximum goodness.
Here’s an older soup swap post, and another, here. Don’t miss the soupcentric Gracious Bowl, And we Soup Swap Seattle folks really do want to know about your soup swap, so do get in touch via the blog, okay? Our favorite thing last year was talking to you, far away soup swappers, on the phone. I’ll miss National Soup Swap Day this year as I’ll be traveling to the homeland of pho, but I know it’s going to be great.
How great that the soup swap is getting that kind of press! I’d love to participate…but (I sound like such a loser)…don’t really have friends here I can invite. This place is kinda weird like that. 🙂
