I don’t make a lot of money from the ads you see here on Nerd’s Eye View, enough to keep me in web hosting and the occasional side purchase – Nerd’s Eye View t-shirts, postcards or photo books, that sort of thing.
I did buy a fancy camera last year before we went to Hawaii – I was in the rare and enviable situation of being able to justify it 100% legitimately as a business expense. I think it paid off, we love our Hawaii photos and the comps for the book are nothing if not pretty. But we could not afford to buy the camera and updated lenses so I’ve been shooting with older, pre-digital lenses on my new digital camera.
I’ve been saving my pennies for the last six months or so and have finally earned enough from ad revenue to spring for a serious lens with image stabilization and the bits that make it talk effectively to the giant brain inside the Nikon. Exciting. It arrives next week. Bees, watch out.
