Giveaway: Hazel Mail Postcards

Postcard Revival

Hey, did I send you a postcard? I won a whole pack of them from Trusty Pony and for grins, I mailed them all out to my Twitter followers. I hear the postcards came out pretty nice, though in retrospect, I wish I’d mailed one to myself just to see first hand.

Happily, now you can win a set of DIY postcards from Hazel Mail. I’m here to tell you, it’s a cool service — you upload your photo to their site, type in your note and the address, and off they go to ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD! No kidding! I sent mine to South Korea and Holland and lots of places around the US. Make someone’s day, send them a postcard.

Just leave a comment and hey, if you wanted to drop a link to your post that espouses the wonder of postcards, that would be fun for me, but it’s not required. Only one entry, please, duplicates will be disqualified and don’t think I can’t see your IP address, nerds. I’ll close comments next Friday morning, July 10th, when I fall out of bed and wander to my desk. I get to pick five winners, count them FIVE, so odds are in your favor.

Postcards. They are cool and wonderful and happy. Win some, then send some.

  1. I love postcards. I buy them pretty much everywhere I go, even though I take tons of pictures, because postcards have the perfect shot. I also have been collecting used postcards, particularly vintage Canadian from scenic places and places I’ve lived.

There is something great about a message from long ago, addressed to someone who lived there, once, who had an aunt or a friend who thought of them, someone who opened the mailbox one day and got a postcard.

    I just love ’em.

  2. Haha Bikejuju – I like the odder the better!

Hazel was my grandmother’s name, so I’ll always remember the website. Count me in!

  3. Postcards! A dear friend of mine of over 30 years and I have this habit of sending each other the ugliest of postcards. You know them: the ones that are supposed to be humorous, but fall short, the ones from the old communist countries where tourism was shunned, the ones of photos that were taken before Photoshop was invented.

Like the idea of HazelMail and will give it a try.

  4. I’ve been running a postcard project for a while. Basically folks fill in the form and I send them out a postcard. I’ve used a service for that a couple of times, but mostly I’ve been doing it by hand.

    My URL is: http://www.toddrjordan.com/thebroadbrush/postcards/
I’ve sent postcards all over the world.
Another great place for exchanging postcards is postcrossing.com. Fun and they provide the addresses to send to.

Cheers and I hope I win.

  5. I love postcards, too, and so does Jessamyn West of librarian.net, jessamyn.com, etc and if I win, I’ll surely send her (and you) one as payback for the ones you’ve sent me! Not that I’m trying to get an unfair advantage or anything.

  6. Nice photo!

Especially for me, cause I collect postcards. I sometimes joke that it is like collecting stamps, but big stamps 😉

  7. I am an avid postcard distributor. On trips for business or pleasure especially when far afield I send postcards or cards to family and friends. Most recent batch I sent was during our vacation to Turkey in April. We visited four different parts of the country and I sent cards from each.

  8. I love sending postcards from my travels to my friends and family back home. But I also enjoy sending a postcard to myself from the places I visit. I’m terrible at journaling and it’s a way to remember my travels in a fun and surprising way. 🙂

  9. I love sending and receiving postcards! I don’t get a lot of cool mail, just bills and spam mail. So on the occasion I am sent something colorful and from the heart, it makes my day!!

  10. How cool would it be to be able to send a postcard
with a photo you took that day. Sign me up!

  11. Very cool! What better way to tell folks back home that you are thinking of them (or just being a show-off) while away on an exotic vacation. 🙂

  12. how fun is this? i love the photo with the postcards on the line. we’ll have to try hazelmail. often we forget abt the postcards when we’re traveling, and then quick do them in the airport. sigh.

  13. I use postcards to keep in touch with friend from as far back as 1st grade. If nothing else, they get a postcard and a Christmas card from me every year. I love that Hazel sends them for you. I have this weird thing about not mailing stuff…

  14. I’m also a fan of postcards and subscribe to the entertaining PostCrossing (postcrossing.com) where you send and receive cards from complete strangers around the world. I’ve cards from Belarus, Ukraine, west China and Cameroon among others. Some of the cards are well chosen and quirky as well. This service also sounds a really good idea.
