The yellows, reds and oranges are just surreal. Gorgeous. Very cool that you got to see moose from above. Alaska now just moved up a few notches on the travel wish list.
We were in Alaska about 10 years ago, so I recognize some of the places in this set.
The Chitina Emporium was open when we were there…Tim and I both remember going in it. We also ate at the It’ll Do cafe in Chitina (and for soup and grilled cheese, it did just fine!). The gas “station” was pretty much a big ol’ barrel set up on a rack and you pumped directly from that. Last chance for gas before you went out that road to McCarthy and Kennicott.
Did you go out on the glacier at Kennicott? Is that what I’m seeing? Loved taking photos of all of those abandoned red buildings at the old mine, too 🙂
Gorgeous shots.
Must confess, I’m not quite ready for seeing leaves changing and snow.
Wow. Before seeing your shots, I never had more than a half-hearted desire to see the 49th State, but now I REALLY WANT TO GO!
Amazing. Love the slideshow, Pam!
I loved all the photos but my favorite is the one of a road with sole cloudy mountains on the background.
Pam,
We really enjoyed your slide show. Alaska is definitely on our hit list.
Beautiful, and I’m not a fan of cold places!!!

These shots brought back some good memories 🙂

Looks like you had a great trip!
Alaska is on my list of places to see, ever since I first watched TV show Northern Exposure.
