My friend K. had her bridal mehndi — or henna — applied last night. Here are a few pics I shot, the work is just beautiful. The paste stayed on overnight, we’ll see the results today when we go to the pre-wedding dinner.

Absolutely gorgeous! I used to get my feet done every once in a while. I miss it.
i LOVE henna. i bring the supplies every year to our unschoolers waterpark gathering, and hundreds of people sit and enjoy. we also do it in mid-winter, lillie and i, and when her friends come up to the lake (weekenders) in the summer. it’s so amazing, these beautiful cultural traditions that can spread joy all over the world.

It is really beautiful! how long did that take? Such intricate patterns.
HOURS. I think I hung out for six hours.
That is so beautiful! Is it Hebrew letters I see there?
Yup. It was a Jewish/Hindu wedding and the bride had the groom’s Hebrew name added into her henna pattern.
