I used to have a line in my bio that said I was “waiting for Conde Nast to call.” Well, that has happened, in a few different ways over the past few years, though please don’t think I was just sitting at home wishing, I actually did some things that caused it to happen. Anyway, it happened again recently, more in the original way I’d hoped for and now, I’m a regular contributor to Conde Nast Traveler’s The Daily Traveler.
I’m essentially writing postcards — a photo plus a detailed caption that’s kind of a micro-story of 100 words. It’s a gig that was designed especially for me and combines two things I love, photography and pithy remarks. It’s also hugely challenging, the limited word count makes me choose every single letter with extreme care, but so far, I’m enjoying it tremendously. I hope you’ll check out what I do there and, if you like it, leave a comment saying so. If you’d like to know more, here’s a Q&A. And here are my first and second posts.
Yay!
So MASSIVELY proud of you that I can hardly stand it. No one deserves this more. Good on you!
Yee haw! Doing a happy dance for you.
Super huge congrats Pam!
That is truly excellent. Your writing and photographs deserve a wider audience, and I think you have really earned it.
(Does your Daruma have its other eye yet?)
That’s awesome. Congrats! You’re now a professional extended-haiku writer.
My the champagne corks fly! Fantastic news. Well deserved too. Can’t wait to read your stories.
SO very happy for you. And, of course, for all the lucky readers. Hooray!
Congratulations, Pam! Awesome! I’m checking it out for sure!
OMG OMG OMG!!! This is fantastic, Pam! I generally hate stupid internet/social media abbreviations, but, wow, this is great. Good on ya!
