Oh man. SO GUTTED I missed this! Sounds like you guys had a blast. And seriously: I was cheering at the screen as I read it, so god only knows what your audience was doing.
Virtual Sicilian cannoli are winging their way through cyberspace RIGHT NOW to celebrate the awesome pairing of the Nerd and the Peach. Aces.
That 13 pages PDF file is probably one of the most enjoyable things I have read all this week. I can “hear” you talk and imagine how the crowd would react to what you said. Some probably winced :P.
Thank you for posting this, it really is useful, and such a fun read.
Thank you for this!! Since TBEX and Book Passages were impossible for me this year, getting to read this transcript was just plain awesome. I love how you just get down to it – travel blogs + so-so writing that are just plain bad. I did get to go to BlogHER this year for work and it made me realize that so many were in it for the freebies and there was so little emphasis on the writing. It strengthened my resolve to just focus on writing because I love it — your session further confirms I’ve made the right choice and that I should rethink my editing process – to really critique my first page or at least the first couple of paragraphs. 🙂
Great session. The PDF was a real help as expands a lot on the points. Created great debate. Look forward to following your travels and writing.
This was really fantastic. I was pretty bummed to have missed this past TBEX but honestly got more out of this post than I did from most panels I attended in Colorado. Thank you!
