The early part of the year has some cool things in it. I’m starting kind of a dream project (which I’ll talk about when the client says it’s okay to do so) and also, I’m going to school with Harley the dog. I’m genuinely psyched about that.
Do you get more of a kick out of mathematically interesting birthdays (numbers you like, divisible by a good number, number important for some other reason, etc)? Also, if you had to choose just one cake to celebrate your birthday, which cake would it be?
Oh, lord, there are so many excellent cakes. Though my heart sort of belongs to the Kaisertorte at the Zauner in Bad Ischl, a chocolate cake wrapped in hazelnut marzipan. Gawd.
Happy Birthday to you & me! I’m just a tad older. I love Harley and wonder what possessed you to adopt a dog at this stage in your life? Did you have one as a child and are harkening back to a past time? Or did you have this awesome small purple sweater and needed a little being to wear it?
The sweater is a handmedown from Best Friend Larry’s Dogs. So nope, it’s not sweater inspired. The truth is kind of sad — I was lonely and kind of depressed. Harley seemed like a better idea that anti-depressants.
Hmmm. I had a HUGE party on my 43rd, that was really fun. I don’t know, though — I can tell you that while I would like my 30’s packaging back, I’m not sure I’m really keen to be younger again, you know?
♫ Lucky I’m sane after all I’ve been through
(Everybody say I’m cool) (She’s cool)
I can’t complain but sometimes I still do
Life’s been good to me so far ♫
If you had the chance, what would you have done differently in your life? And looking forward, what is one thing that you still want to do but think you can’t?
Happy birthday! What are you looking forward to this year?
K.

Happy Birthday, Pam!
What’s the best birthday gift you’ve ever received?
One year, I got up on my birthday to find Julius had left me a jar of honey from a local beekeeper as a birthday gift. I really loved that.
You are now playing with a full deck.
I forget that you’re funny.

Numbers. Meh.

What has been your favorite age so far (there are probably multiple but pick one) and why? Harpy Bathday, friend-o!

Kisses – HippyHappy Birthday, Pam.
Happy birthday, dear friend.
I, personally, would like to know your secret for looking so fresh faced. Is it monkey brains? Vampirism? Do tell.
Cake. Obviously.
Has anything started to fail or break down yet?
OMG, so many things. Mostly, my bones. They hurt, it sucks. I’m ignoring it and carrying on.

Go to Afghanistan and Iran. But it’s geopolitics messing with that, not age.
