I Am the Passenger

When I wandered back from the loo, he was folding himself into the center seat. I was bummed because I was hoping it would stay empty, of course. The guy was a thin, sandy haired guy in a pilot’s uniform, stripes on his shoulders and we were delayed. A lot. The kid in the window seat, a nice looking hipster with a newer digital camera, snapped pictures out the window while we sat on the runway. As we rolled back to the terminal and again, back out on the runway, we started to talk.

Lighting Round: Vancouver

“Let’s just go home,” we said. Why? Well, sometimes, the Northwest rain is a little too much. Watching the torrents pour from the sky this morning was gloomy and uninspiring. Saturday had been just fine, but short of some visiting that would have been nice to squeeze in, we’d accomplished our goals. We’d visited Little …

No to Jewelry and Yes to Peanut Butter

The Travel Channel sent a couple of preview discs from Samantha Brown’s new series, Passport to Latin America. Shopping for bikinis in Rio, learning to tango in Buenos Aires… it looks to be a great series. Sam is an enthusiastic traveler who makes contact with the locals and seems to score great hotel rooms at swanky places. What a way to travel!

I did a Q&A for BlogHer, but it occurs to me that you might like to read it too, it’s kinda fun.
